Explain how Police Prevent crime
Police Prevent crime from happening by setting up useful and effective online campaigns on social media to spread awarness on a major issue, this targets the public to support them and the perpetrators to stop them from committing a crime.
Example of Prevention by police?
For example, a 2021 campaign called //GetConsent was spreading awareness on how to be safe in new relationships.
Explain how Police Protect the Public
the police try and protect the public in many differ ways, this icludes preparing ahead for large events, being visible and gathering evidence.
Example of protect
For example, police can be seen present at major football games on mounted units to break up large crowds and be visible to public.
Explain how Police use their Power of Entry
Police use power of entry if theyre witnessing disturbing criminal activity to investigate the cause and attempt to pursue.

On 8 December 2014, the Home Secretary laid Parliament a new code of practice on powers of entry.
Explain how police use their power stop and search
This is when police can stop you and check if you are carrying or using dangerous and illegal weapons or items, but they must have proper reason to believe so.
Example of stop and search
For example, in Scotland, if police believe you’re carrying drugs they must have 8 reasons to why they are stopping and searching you.

Explain community policing
This is also known as locality policing, they work with the local community to address problems, many police officers are from this branch and their success depends on them getting to the community

For example, in Scotland, There are many schools have a campus cop that build relationships with students as well as deal with issues.
Explain the Structure of S.C.D
The SCD provides specialist investigative and intelligence functions when a serious crime like murder takes place or the public is in danger.
