Charter
A flight where a group of individuals (like a tour group or sports team) rents the entire plane.
Deadhead
Crewmember travel for duty at the direction of the company
Domicile
The base of operation where a crewmember is assigned
Ferry
Transfer of an aircraft from one point to another without revenue guests
Intermediate Stop
Any city where a flight stops between its origination and termination point
Layover
Time spent between flights at a city other than a crewmember’s home base
Non-Stop Flight
A flight that goes from one city to another without interruption or immediate stops
Per Diem
Money earned as reimbursement for meals while away from base (Latin; For day)
Recurrent
Training required by the FAA on a regular basis - usually annually
Released
When crew services officially relieves a crewmember from duty
Turn or Turn Time
The time spent readying the aircraft for it’s next departure
Turnaround
A flight that originates and returns to the same location on the same day
