Hypothesis test definition
A hypothesis test is a statistical test that is used to determine whether there is enough evidence in a sample of data to infer that a certain condition is true for the entire population.
what is the PMCC
Linear association between two variables.
process in making a statistical model
Observe real world problem
Devise a statistical model and collect data
Compare observed against expected outcomes and test the model Refine model if necessary
Critical region of a test statistic
The set of values of the test statistic for which
the null hypothesis is rejected in a hypothesis test.
Critical value
A critical value is the point (or points) on the scale of the test statistic beyond which we reject the null hypothesis.
what is meant by a hypothesis
A statement concerning a population parameter
Mutually exclusive
no overlap between events and cannot happen together
