Contraindication

Drug
Therapeutic agent; any substance, other than food, used in the prevention, diagnosis, alleviation, treatment, our cure of disease.
Generic Name
Is often derived from the chemical name.
Every medication had only one generic name.
The generic name is the common name of the medication.
Hypersensitivity (allergy)
Abnormal sensitivity, a condition in which there is an exaggerated response by the body to the stimulus of a foreign agents.
Indication
The basis for initiation of a treatment for a disease or of a diagnostic test
Maximum Dose
The largest amount of medication that can be given without reaching the toxic effect
MTF
Medical Treatment Facility
Opiate
A drug that contains opium, derivatives of opium, or any several semisynthetic drugs with opium-like activity.
Opioid
Strictly speaking, pertaining to natural and synthetic chemicals that have opium-like effects similar to morphine, though they are not derived from opium.
Patency
The state of being freely open or exposed
Pharmacology
The science concerned with drugs, their sources, appearance, chemistry, actions, and uses.
Pharmacy
Is the branch of pharmacology dealing with the preparation, dispensing, and proper use of medications.
