What is a numerator?
The top number/first number in a fraction.
What is a denominator?
The bottom number in a fraction.
What does “product” mean?
The answer or result of an equation with multiplication.
What does “quotient” mean?
The answer or result in an equation with division.
What does “sum” mean?
The answer or result of an equation with addition.
What does “the difference” mean?
The answer or result of an equation with subtraction.
What is an exponent?
How many times you multiply a number or numbers to itself (Repeated multiplication).
What is a power?
A base with an exponent.
What is another way to refer to an exponent?
Indices, powers. (Ex: “To the power of…”)
What are different terms of a power?
1st power, 2nd power, squared, cubed, square root, cubed root, and so forth.
What is a fractional exponent?
A fraction used as an exponent.
What are different terms for fractional exponent?
“Radicals” or “Rational exponents”
What is a rational number?
A number that you can make sense of (terminating/repeating/fraction/etc).
