Sagittal- front to back
Coronal- side to side
Transverse- horizontal
Name all directional terminology and what they describe
Superior vs inferior- above and below
Anterior and posterior- front and behind
Proximal and distal- closer and further away (relative to limb attachment)
Medial and lateral- closer and further away (relative to midline)
Superficial and deep- proximity to surface of skin
Other names for directional terminology
Superior- Rostral
Inferior- Caudal
Anterior- ventral
Posterior- dorsal

Solid- fibrous and cartilaginous
Synovial- pivot, ball and socket, hinge, saddle, plane, condyloid
