A body of water which is long and narrow and reaches far inland. Norway has many, as does Canada, Chile and New Zealand
Fjord
Measured in degrees, this is the distance either north or south of the equator
Latitude
A man made waterway built for transport, irrigation and trade
Canal
An Area just outside of a city which is mostly residential.
Suburb
A large cluster of Islands.
Archipelago
Measure in degrees, this is the distance east to west.
Longitude
An area of salt water which is separate from the sea from a coral reef and sand bar.
Lagoon
A hot spring which can erupt and send hot water into the air.
Geyser
The science of map making.
Cartography
Two parts of the Earth that are diametrically opposite.
Antipodes
A passage of water which separates two oceans or seas.
Strait
A muddy or sandy area where the river meets the sea . They are often triangle.
Delta
An area where freshwater river meets the ocean.
Estuary
Height in relation to sea or ground level
Altitude
This is where the longitude is widely acknowledged to be 0 degrees and passes through Greenwich,England
