Biennial Plants

A

Similar to annuals, except their life span carries over two consecutive growing seasons.

They grow leaves and other vegetative parts in one season and become dormant during the non-growing season.

Perennial Plants

A

Live for longer than three years. They can grow, flower, and set seed many times over.

In the case of many herbaceous perennials, the plant may regrow new stems.

The stems of woody perennials may live for many years, as tree trunks do.
