What is a satellite state?
A nation that was once independent but is now under control of another.
How did Stalin view the Soviet takeover of Eastern Europe?
His justification was that he was liberating Eastern Europe and then letting them hold free elections.

Truman thought that the USSR was taking over countries in Eastern Europe to spread Communism.

Communists supported by Soviet Union overthrew the Czech president and in February 1948 a Communist Party was set up.
How and when did Hungary become Communist?
Free elections in 1945, Communist Party lost. 1947, new elections and Communist Party won because voters were threatened by Moscow.
