• First and foremost it answers the question “What type of messiah will Jesus be?”
• It’s also something that teaches us about how to fight temptation
  
  • Temptation isn’t sin
  • Temptations won’t become less as we grow to be more like Christ, they will become more subtle
• Temptation, how we respond to it, determines what we love the most
  
  • Temptation is an issue of love
  • We need to rightly handle the Word of God
    
    • We need to KNOW the Word of God
    • We need to BELIEVE the Word of God
    • We need to LIVE IN OBEDIENCE to the Word of God
