What is the triple point?
A
The triple point of a substance is one specific temperature and pressure where the three phases of matter of that substance can exist in thermal equilibrium. There is not net transfer of thermal energy between the phases.

What does thermal equilibrium mean?
A
When two objects are in thermal equilibrium there is no net flow of thermal energy between them, meaning they must have the same temperature.
