Q

What is wind direction measured in

A

Using compass directions
( North, South, East, West)

14
Q

Describe the mercury barometer

A

It has a glass tube which is placed inside a bowl of mercury. When there is high pressure the mercury rises and when there is low pressure the mercury sinks

15
Q

Describe the aneroid barometer

A

It has a vacuum chamber and a spindle which spins the pointer. Where the pointer falls show us whether the air pressure has increased or decreased and tells us what kind of weather we’re experiencing

16
Q

What is air mass

A

Air mass is the weight of air with equal temperature and humidity

17
Q

What is a front

A

A front is the area where two air masses meet

18
Q

What is an anticyclone

A

Anticyclones are places that have high pressure and usually give good weather

19
Q

What is a depression

A

A depression is a place that has low pressure and usually gives bad weather
