Prepare for the call
Be clear about what you want to achieve
Remember the other person has no non-verbal cues
Think about your tone of voice
Make sure you listen carefully
Speak clearly and be succinct
If you don’t understand something, ask
Don’t be tempted to do other things at the same time
Summarize the conversation so that everybody knows what’s expected of them
Voicemails – be clear and keep it short
