Tectonics Flashcards
1
Q
What is a constructive plate boundary
A
When the plates move apart and form a gap in between them for magma to rise through
2
Q
What is a conservative plate boundary
A
When plates slide past each other, the jagged rocks catch each other, this builds up friction and pressure and when the plates can’t take the stress they slip past each other causing earthquakes
3
Q
What is a destructive plate boundary
A
This is when the oceanic crust slides beneath the continental crust and create a subduction zone then the rocks catch each other until they can’t take it and slip past each other causing an earthquake
