What is a tectonic plate?
Pieces of the Erath’s crust, that slowly move across the mantle over a long period of time
What are the four plate boundaries?
Collison, conservative, constructive, destructive
What happens at a collision plate boundary?
Two tectonic plates collide into each other
What happens at a conservative plate boundary?
Two tectonic plates glide past each other
What happens at a constructive plate boundary?
Two tectonic plates move away from each other
What happens at a destructive plate boundary?
The oceanic tectonic plate goes under the continental tectonic plate and magma is forced up from the mantle
What’s an oceanic plate?
Tectonic plates located beneath the ocean
What’s a continental plate?
Tectonic plates located beneath land
