Tecnología Flashcards
What is a structure?
A structure is a group of elements which resists the forces acting on it without breaking or deforming too
much.
What are natural structures?
Give some examples.
Natural structures are those created for nature.
Examples: shells, spiderwebs, natural cave, bird ́s nest, human skeleton, tree…
What is a force?
A force is something which deforms a structure or body or modify the movement.
What is it called when a force only deforms?
Static effect.
What is it called when a force changes motion?
Dynamic effect.
What are loads?
Loads are forces which act on a structure.
How can loads be?
Permanent or variable.
What is an effort?
Effort is the internal tension or reaction of an object when a force acts on it.
What are the main types of efforts?
Traction, compression, torsion, bending and cutting
What are the conditions of a structure?
Rigidity, stability and resistance.
What are the main types of structures?
Massive, lintelled, laminated, hanging, triangled, geodesic, vaulted, pneumatic, arched and framework.
