- Technology has had a substantial effect on the english language in which we use today.
- The question is though, has it augmented, constrained or stimulated the language and human- to -human interaction in a positive or negative way?
- From communicating by email to messaging over text, digital english has become both an affordance and a constraint on how we communicate on a daily basis.
- For instance, according to Eisenstein (1979), an enriching advantage to computer-mediated communication is that it has changed how people interact with each other, like allowing old friends from secondary school to reconnect with each other.
