Enteral?
Medications given via the digestive tract, typically orally.
Topical?
Medications applied directly to the skin or mucous membranes
Parenteral?
Medications administered outside the digestive tract, usually via injection.

Inject under the skin
Intramuscular?
Inject into the muscle
Intravenous/
Inject directly into the bloodstream
Inhalation?
Medication delivered via the respiratory system using a nebulizer of inhaler.
Antibiotics?
Medications used to kill. or inhabit growth of bacteria and treat bacterial infections.
Ectoparasites?
Parasites that live on the surface of the host, such as fleas, ticks and mites.
Endoparasites?
Parasites that live inside the host, such as worms (e.g., roundworms, tapeworms).
Vaccines?
Biological preparations that provide immunity against specific diseases by stimulating the animal’s immune system.
Anaesthetics?
Medications that induce a loss of sensation or consciousness, used during surgical procedures.
Anti-Inflammatories?
Medications that reduce inflammation, swelling, and pain. Examples include steroids and NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs).
Anti-Fungals?
Medications used to treat fungal infections, such as ringworm.
Anti-Emetics?
Medications that prevent or reduce nausea and vomiting.
Analgesics?
Medications that relieve pain. These include opioids and non-opioid pain relievers.
Antiviral?
Medications that treat viral infections by inhabiting the replication of viruses.
