norming stage :
team members settle into their roles
there is more open communication based on constructive criticism
performing stage :
there is awareness in the group regarding what must be done
team members take responsibility for their individual and team contributions
Adjourning stage :
task has been completed, the team terminates
often a sense of loss occurs between some team members
reasons for conflict :
- lack of communication
- resource allocation
- team members not respecting rules or policies
- if team members are unsure of their respective roles
- prejudice or ignorance of cultural practices
- differences between people (type A and type B)

importance of conflict management in a business environment
functional conflict - when qa conflict situation is handled in a manner that has a positive outcome
dysfunctional conflict - conflict situation leads to lower productivity or another negative outcome
belbin theory
states that there are nine different roles needed in a team for the team to function successfully

- the task orientated
- people orientated
