Controller coordination is advantage of teamwork by a collection of highly skilled individuals. It’s prominent benefits are:
1) Increase in safety:
Redundancy to detect/remedy individual errors
2) Increase in efficiency:
By organised use of all existing resources, improves ATM.
What 3 things does a team need to have?
1) Clear, challenging objectives which everyone understands and wants to achieve
2) Members who are committed by being involved and talking differences through consensus
3) Members with a variety of different styles that complement one another
A team needs leadership but does this mean a single person?
No. Can be different individuals who can serve as leader.
Use of different individuals as leaders is obvious when?
4 things
- Draw ideas from the team
- Orchestrate discussion n agreement
- Win consent when team is faced with a challenge
- Tell team what to do in an emergency
What are the 3 types of team members?
Doers
Thinkers
Carers
What are doers
Intent on the job that’s been done and give the team it’s drive and momentum
What are thinkers?
Have good ideas and reject bad ones
What are carers?
Keep team together. Promote harmony and are sensitive about relationships within team.

2) what style is best for person/team or organisation I’m leading.

What are Good examples of teamwork?
- Friends communicate a lot together
- other members drawn into discussion
- good social feel to group
- people enjoy being in a group
- improves motivation n commitment
What are the negative effects of friendship?
- cause people to be excluded
- people less likely to include others
- divides group in two
- information may not flow
- miscommunication leads to misunderstanding n poor collective performance
