what does story of Adam and Eve teach us
God created humans in his image physically not the same but some characteristics
it shows how important humans are to God
explains our special relationship with him and reminds us to behave like him
what do we understand of the stories in genesis
bible writers were inspired by God but expressed things in own words, view of science is accepted but that creation started with god
why are there 2 versions of creation in genesis
to teach about gods purpose and human sinfulness

omnipotent - created everything from nothing
omnibenevelent - everything he created was good, a place for us with all we need
god is eternal - existed before creation
life is sacred- he made us in his image

catholics - metephorical interpretation inspired by god to teach truths about god not factual accepts big bang - but all started with god
Liberalists - literal interpretation, genesis factually correct, word of god. dont accept science
Conservative christians - words about god a good guide to life a story to help us understand god created the world
