A
A condition that affects the brain and causes frequent seizures

Epilepsy - symptoms
A
- repeated seizures
- younger age
- 5 mins unconsciousness
- brief aura
- disorientated and drowsy following event
- urinary/faecal incontinence
- jerking movements of limbs

anti epileptic drugs - sodium valproate - carbamazepine surgery special diet

- brain scan calles EEG
- brain MRI to look for other causes of epilepsy - brain tumour, damage to brain, scarring

sodium valproate does not react with oral contraceptive the others do
