What is the point of taxonomy?
To study the diversity of life

To clarify that everyone is discussing the same organism

What is a class?
It is composed of similar families
What is a phylum composed of?
Several different classes that share important characteristics
What is a kingdom composed of?
The 2nd largest taxonomic group, consisting of closely related phyla
What is a domain composed of?
One or more kingdoms
