Class
Animal kingdom examples are: Aves, Mammalia, Amphibia, and Reptilia
Order
Examples for class of Mammalia: carnivora, insectovora, rodentia, cetacea, and proboscidia
Family:
Canidae, Felidae
Genus
First word of Binomial Numenclature (always capitalized)
Species
Second word of Binomial Numenclature (not capitalized) level where organisms resemble each other and mate with eachother

2 part naming system (latin) Genus, Species
Phylogeny
evolutionary history of an organism used to group all organisms into one of 5 kingdoms
Classification
grouping things toghether based on similarities
Taxonomy
The branch of biology in which all living organisms are classfied into groups
