Low Visibility Operations: Weather at Departure Airport
A
- all required RVRs must be at or above the minima specified for the departure runway,
- for takeoff runway lighting requirements refer to the FAM, QRH or Takeoff Runway Lighting requirements in this manual,
- a takeoff alternate may be required. The forecast for the takeoff alternate for the period for which it would be used, must be:
- B767 and B737 above adequate criteria

Low Visibility Operations: Weather at Destination Airport
A
- the Captain and First Officer must be LVO qualified and current,
- where the weather at the destination airport is forecast to be below alternate criteria, an alternate airport with weather at or above alternate criteria must be planned,
- the destination airport must be approved for LVO and all required airport equipment must be serviceable,
- all required LVO aircraft equipment/systems must be serviceable

Criteria for Low Visibility Takeoff
A
- a runway is approved by the relevant state authority for such operations,
- the minima is published on the applicable Jeppesen (Qantas\EFA) chart.
Within Australia only the ATIS statement to the ffect that special low takeoff minima is available to approved operators satisfies the requirement.

Visibility Measurement
A
- RV is acceptable for takeoff minimum visibility of 350m and above.
- RVR must be used below 350m.
- If any RVR is less than 200m, RVR reports are required for TDZ, MID and END.
