Task 9 Chapter 12 Flashcards
What are three basic types of singles subject designs?
Baseline design
Dynamic design
Discrete design
What is a baseline design?
Focuses on the Behaviour of a single subject both within and across the experimental treatments and does not rely on averaging to deal with uncontrolled variability.
What is a behavioral baseline?
Changes over time as the effect of the exposure to the treatment condition develops and also in response to the effects of uncontrolled variables
What is a stability criterion?
Imposes an objective rule for deciding that the baseline has been stablished
Design involves exposing the subject to what two conditions?
—Baseline phase
—Intervention Phase
What is the baseline phase?
To assess Behaviour in the absence of treatment m
Intervention phase
To assess Behaviour during application of the treatment
What is an ABAB design?
When the subjects are exposed to each of the phases twice yielding what is called an ABAB design (A is baseline B intervention)
What is a reversal strategy?
When you move back to a previous phase
