Supervisor responsibly after taser deployed (actually fired)
1) PHYSICAL ATTENDANCE
- check to see if physical attendance is required (facetime)
2) MEDICAL ATTENTION
- ensure after care and medical attention is provided
3) PRESERVE SCENE
- preserve and photograph scene as may be necessary for further enquires.
4) EVIDENCE COLLECTION
- Collect 4-5 cartridge tags
5) MEDICAL PRACTIONER
- ensure people who are TASERED are seen by a registered medical practitioner, or qualified ambulance officer
6) UPLOAD FOOTAGE AND TOR
- ensure operator completes TASER register, TOR and uploads footage to evidence.com
7) REVIEW
- review footage and TOR
Supervisor responsibly after operational show of taser
- Ensure operator fills in a TOR
- Ensure operator completes details of the arcing in the taser register.
- Ensure operator uploads incident to evidence.com via evidence sync, categorises the upload including the TOR and event details and shares with their supervisor.
- Debrief the officer and review Taser footage and TOR. Determine if in line with policy and record summary of outcome on TOR
Unintentional taser discharges
Operator must notify supervisors ASAP. Supervisor must then:
1. Preserve and photograph scene
2. Immediately withdraw taser from service and consult armoury as to about if the taser needs to be forwarded to them for examination and a report.
3. ensure all probes, cartridges, wires etc are recovered and secured.
4. instigate a review of the facts surrounding the incident.
5. Ensure operator submits a TOR for unintentional discharge.
6. Ensure upload of footage to evidence.com and categories uploaded data including TOR and event details.
7. Ensure operator completes the details of the discharge in the Taser register.
8. Notify the District police professional conduct manager.
