2) tv commercials - studios sell these movies to all sexes, races, ages, educations and incomes

8-13 year olds
A
- used to be completely ignored by studios b/c they have no money and no transportation
*they do have money
Disposable income - money that you have you spend - Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen branded themselves and were HUGELY successful
Present Day Examples:
Justin Bieber, Zac Efron, One Direction, Miley Cyrus - they are one of the most profitable age groups (demographics) - they spend money on clothing, food, and entertainment
- AKA Tweens- between child & teen
- studios consider when marketing: sex and race
- studios do not consider: education, income, age

- studios think you want: action, horror, gore, comedy, soundtrack
- begins the key demographic (age 17) -> develop brand loyalty
- fast paced
- parallel swing -> see movies intended for older and younger audiences
- studios will consider: sex, race
- studios will not consider: age, income, education

- most ignored group by studios-> fewest movies made for this age group -> huge mistake!! they have time AND money
- only parallel swing down
- genres (all)-> westerns/ musicals/ documentaries
- all factors considered
- director specifically mentioned in trailer-> if they have long/ distinguished careers
- nostalgia factor
