Tail Rotor Flashcards
1
Q
What is Tail rotor drift and why does it happen?
A
Tail rotor drift is a tendency for the aircraft to drift in the direction of TR thrust.
This occurs due to the torque reaction turning the fuselage of the aircraft to the right, corrected by TR thrust that pushes the tail to the right, the combination of both result in right drift.
2
Q
What is Tail rotor roll?
A
Tail rotor roll is the cyclic input that tilts the disc to correct for tail rotor drift which causes a roll and for the left skid to hang low.
