TACTICAL MOVEMENT (RESP-2004) Flashcards
IDENTIFY THE FUNDAMENTALS OF ROOM ENTRY
SURPRISE, SPEED, AND CONTROLLED AGGRESSIVE ACTION
IDENTIFY SURVIVAL CONCEPTS FOR ROOM ENTRY
-PROPER MINDSET FOR CLOSE COMBAT
-PSYCHOLOGICALLY PREPARED TO USE LETHAL FORCE
-PROPER TRAINING USING ROOM ENTRY TACTICS (RET) TO ALLEVIATE MENTAL BARRIER AND REDUCE THE RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY/DEATH
-GOOD TEAMWORK & SOUND TACTICS
-OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES EMPHASIZING SAFETY FUNDAMENTALS, TEAM INTEGRITY, CONTROL, FIREPOWER, AND MANPOWER SUPERIORITY
IDENTIFY VERBAL ROOM ENTRY COMMANDS
-OPEN DOOR (LEFT/RIGHT/FRONT)
-CLOSED DOOR (LEFT/RIGHT/FRONT)
-DANGER AREA (LEFT/RIGHT/FRONT)
-L/T/X INTERSECTION
-CHECKING DOOR
-GOING LONG
-SHOT
-CLEAR, REQUIRED IF SHOT IS CALLED
-STACK, STACK, STACK
-FLOW (LEFT/RIGHT/FRONT)
IDENTIFY NON-VERBAL ROOM ENTRY COMMANDS
-STAND-BY-READY SIGNAL (THUMB SQUEEZE)
-READY SIGNAL (FIRM, POSITIVE TRICEP SQUEEZE)
-HEAD NOD (EXAGGERATED NOD, EYES STAY FORWARD)
IDENTIFY THE 2 TYPES OF ROOM ENTRY RESPONSES
DELIBERATE RESPONSE (SLOW/METHODICAL MOVEMENT) NO SHOTS FIRED, NO IMMINENT THREAT, AND TIME IS NOT A CRITICAL FACTOR. SLOWER RESPONSE, BETTER SECURITY
EMERGENCY RESPONSE (TIME CRITICAL/CAREFUL HURRY) SHOTS FIRED, IMMINENT DANGER, AND TIME IS A CRITICAL FACTOR. FASTER RESPONSE, LESS SECURITY
IDENTIFY THE FREE FLOW METHOD OF ROOM ENTRY
METHOD WILL ALLOW THE TEAM TO QUICKLY CLEAR THE DOORWAY, DOMINATE, AND CONTROL THE ROOM IN A SAFE AND SYSTEMATIC MANNER. THE #1 MAN WILL DICTATE HOW THE ROOM IS GOING TO BE OCCUPIED BY THE REST OF THE TEAM MEMBERS
-ONCE THE #1 MAN ENTERS THE DOOR AND MOVES IN THE DIRECTION OF THEIR CHOICE TO THE POD, THE #2 MAN WILL ENTER THE ROOM AND MOVE OPPOSITE OF THE #1 MAN
-ALL TEAM MEMBERS MUST FOLLOW THIS PRINCIPLE: MOVE IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF THE TEAM MEMBER IN FRONT OF THEM.
IDENTIFY THE ADVANTAGES OF THE FREE FLOW METHOD
-SAFETY
-SIMPLICITY
-CONTROL
-VERSATILITY
-SPEED
-SURPRISE
-MAXIMUM USE OF MANPOWER
IDENTIFY THE TWO TYPES OF STACKING
CLOSED STACK
DISPERSED STACK
IDENTIFY THE POINTS OF DOMINATION (POD) FOR A CENTER FED ROOM
1 & #2 MAN: 2-3 STEPS OUT OF RESPECTIVE CORNERS, TYPICALLY PLACING THEM IN THE CENTER OF THE ROOM
FOCAL POINT FOR ALL MARINE’S AIM IS TOWARDS THE CENTER OF THE ROOM
IDENTIFY THE POINTS OF DOMINATION (POD) FOR A CORNER FED ROOM
1 & #2 MAN: ONE STEP OUT OF THE CORNERS OF THE ROOM
FOCAL POINT FOR ALL MARINE’S AIM IS TOWARDS THE UNCOVERED CORNER OF THE ROOM
IDENTIFY THE 8 STEPS TO ROOM CLEARING
A. CLEAR THE DOORWAY (CLEAR THE IMMEDIATE AREA)
B. CLEAR THE CORNERS (1 AND 2 ONLY)
C. DOMINATE THE ROOM (SCAN AND ASSESS/CHECK BEHIND THE DOOR)
D. CONTROL OCCUPANTS (PRESENCE, VERBIAGE, AND CONTACT)
E. SECURE THE ROOM (MARK CLEARED ROOM, CONTROL LIKELY AVENUE OF APPROACH, AND ENTRANCE/EXIT)
F. REPORT STATUS (BAD GUYS/GOOD GUYS)
G. BACK CLEAR (RE-CLEAR TO INITIAL ENTRY POINT)
H. COVER AND EVACUATE.
