  1. Place and/or double check Tourniquets
  2. Feel whole body, looking for bleeding on gloves
  3. Pack Wounds

Airway Management

A
  1. Talk to casualty (speaking indicates open patent airway; check LOC)
  2. Not talking: open and clean airway
  3. Look and listen for breathing
  4. Unconscious: OPA/NPA (otherwise put in recovery position)

Respiration

A
  1. Check for holes in the box (nose to belly button; remove armor)
  2. Bilateral rise and fall of chest (can feel both sides of chest)
  3. Apply occlusive dressing
  4. Difficulty breathing (Burp/NDC)

  1. Check interventions (tourniquets/package)
  2. More thorough check of bleeding
  3. Expose
  4. Check pulse (first radial then carotid)
  5. Skin: color, temp
  6. Role to check all posterior (have carry all ready if available)

  2. check head/face for injuries (racoon eyes, leakage around nose and ears)
  3. IV/IO
  4. EPIC protocol (NRB, Normotensive, Airway control)
