What were the U.S. Tactics?
- Rolling Thunder: extensive bombing in Vietnam <– not so effective costing $900 million
- Agent Orange: a toxic plant-killing chemical that could cause cancer, birth disorder and life-threatening health complications.
- Napalm bombs
Used a total of 11 million gallons of Agent Orange altogether - Search and Destroy: went to villages and started killing people who were suspected of the Viet Cong soldiers.

What is the Guerilla Warfare? What was the aim of it?
Guerilla Warfare:
突然・前触れもなくと言う意味
敵との正面からの争いを開けるため、待ち伏せなどの奇襲攻撃で敵を撹乱する戦法のこと。
The aim of it was to avoid a pitched physical battle with the enemy
Who used the Guerilla warfare tactic during the war?
The Viet Cong used this as they had little to no hope that they could defeat the U.S. forces in a battle. Therefore, their aim was to attack the U.S. troops in small groups and then disappear into the surroundings.
What was the Tet Offensive
On January 30, 1968, the North Vietnamese (Viet Minh) dressed themselves as the farmers and the locals and attacked hundreds of South Vietnamese cities and towns.
What was the Significance of the Tet Offensive?
It was a significant turning point in history in which America left the war in 1969.
What happened to the Vietnam war at last?
In 1975, on April 30th, the North Vietnamese made a big push to the South in which South Vietnam officially surrendered to the Communists and reunited as a communist country ‘The Socialist Republic of Vietnam’.
