FFCC

A

When the responsibility for fire support planning and coordination is passed ashore, the FFCC is the senior fire support coordination agency and is responsible for planning, execution and coordination of all organic and non-organic fires within the OA. Prior to control being passed ashore, the FFCC incrementally assumes responsibility from SACC.

The FFCC is organized to supervise at the MAGTF level by the Force Fires Coordinator. The FFC is responsible to the commander, landing force for MAGTF fires.

The FFCC is organized to operate at the tactical and operational level addressing current and future fire support issues.

In consultation with the ATF, the FFCC may assume the lead for SACC duties while afloat.

SACC

A

During the initial phases of an amphibious landing the designated commander exercises his responsibility for overall coordination of fires through the SACC. Working from an amphibious ship.

The SACC consists of three functional sections. Naval Surface Fire Support, Air Support Section, and Target Information Center.

Naval surface fire support section

A

NSFS section is responsible for the coordination and execution of NSFS in support of the ATF both afloat and ashore.
LF reps perform advisory and liaison duties.
NSFS section maintains continuous liaison and comms with the senior NGLO in the GCE of the MAGTF.

In addition, they man all required nets to provide info necessary to the SAC and FFC as well as process naval gunfire mission request. The NSFS provides the TIC with the following information:

a. Units engaging tgts
b. Type and number of rounds fired
c. Damage reports or firing units
d. New targets located by firing units

Air support section

A

The air support section is manned by members of the navy tactical air control squadron (TACRON)

Supervised by air support controller (ASC)

Functions as part of the navy tactical air control center (TACC) but located in SACC

supports control to subsidiary tactical air direction controllers TADCs afloat and ashore.

Coordinates with the TACC to assist in the second location of air missions, routes and requests for fires. ASS provides the TIC with the following:

a. Air support units engaging targets
b. Ordnance expended by number, type, and size.
c. Damage reports of units firing
d. New targets located by air support units

Target information center (TIC)

A

Responsible for collecting, analyzing all Tgt info in the SACC.

Manned by the ATF Tgt intel officer, ATF air intel officer, and other personnel as required

Works closely with the joint intelligence center (JIC)

FSCC

A

The LF GCE conducts fire support coordination ashore through the appropriate level fscc. Fscc reside at the battalion, regiment, and division level.
