data are grouped according to classification, where the sum of the entries is equal to the totalit can be in actual numbers, percent or both.- scales may be qualitative, quantitative or both.
FREQUENCY DISTRIBUTION
used to compare two or more frequencies
CORRELATION DATA
Show the correlation with relevant events.
-if the correlation can be done by including certain indices for each year, the table will assume the characteristic of a correlation table

it should be clear, brief and comprehensive
- what are figures in the body of the table stands for.
- how the data are classified, where and when obtained.
- should not be more than 20 words, if two or three liners should be indentend.
Title
indicate the basis of classification of the rows or horizontal series of figure.
Stubs
indicate the basis of classifcation of columns or vertical series of figures.
Column Headings
: this is made up of figures filling the cells or compartmts brought about by the coordinates of the rows and columns.
Body of the table
refer to the column totals and row totals
Marginal total:
this is the note placed under the table, which gives some explanations or indicates source of information
