How do you Publish a Workbook to Tableau Cloud?
(In Tableau Desktop)
1- Sign into your tableau server (note that idk if you always need to sign in if you’ve signed in before)
* “Server” > “Sign In”
* Click “Tableau Cloud” (note: may say Tableau Online) Image 12
* Sign in with Tableau Authenticator (if necessary)
2 - Open the “Publish Workbook” dialog box
* “Server” > “Publish Workbook”
* Under “Project”: Select the project
* Under “Name”: enter workbook
* Under “Tag”: add search tags
* Under “Permissions”: accept the default project settings
* Under “Data Sources”: Select “Edit” to change how the data is embedded or how people authenticate with data sources.
* Click “Publish”

How do you Publish a Workbook to Tableau Server

How to update a published data source (Choose one)
- Start Page > “Tableau Server” > “Tableau Online” > log in > Click the appropriate datasource > edit
- Workbook>Right click data source > “Edit Data Source Image 7>
- Download a local copy of the Data Source > Make your edits > Open Workbook > “Server” > “Publsh Data Source” > select local copy Image 8> Change name from the copy to the published data source (usually same name) Image 9 > Uncheck “Update workbook to use the published data source > “Yes” to overwrite
- Wrong bc this is just the connection. You don’t have access to the raw data here
- Takes you to the same place at 1

* Click “Subscribe”
