What are the insulin therapy regimens?
A
- Twice daily regimen: a mixture of rapid-acting insulin and intermediate-acting isophane insulin is administered before breakfast and before dinner
- Basal-bolus regimen: long acting insulin is given at night and rapid-acting insulin before each meal, according to carbohydrate intake
- Continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion: fewer hypoglycaemic episodes
