umbilicus moves up: T10-12
Umbilicus moves down: T7-10
schepelmann’s sign:
pn on side of lat. bend: intercostal neuritis
pn on opp side: inflam of pleura or intercostal sp.
Allen’s test
pt: arms flexed & forearm supinated& open / close hands
doc: occlude radial and ulnar artery. open on side and record tome to refill
(+) failure to refill in 10 sec = possible occlusion
Adson’s aka scalenus anticus test
doc: ext, abduct, and ER arm. Feel radial pulse
pt: rotate head towards side
(+): cervical rib
rotate to opp side:
(+) pain: subclavian art or medial scalene
Modified adon’s test aka scalenus medius test
doc: ext, abduct, and ER arm. Feel radial pulse
pt: rotate head towards opp side
(+) pain: subclavian art or medial scalene
(towards same side: cervical rib)
costoclavicular aka eden’s test
pt: shoulders back and abducted. flex head forward
doc: pull arm down
(+) compression of first rib andclavicle

(+) pect minor sx, axillary art
