A

Allows tendons to be bathed in synovial fluid in the tendon sheath- allows gliding motion

Bad if infected as poor blood supply means infection can’t be cleared much like bone

Scarring in the tendon sheath causes stiff fingers

Compartment syndrome classic presentation

A

Pain out of proportion to clinical signs

Common Signs and Symptoms: The “5 P’s” are oftentimes associated with compartment syndrome: pain, pallor (pale skin tone), paresthesia (numbness feeling), pulselessness (faint pulse) and paralysis (weakness with movements). Numbness, tingling, or pain may be present in the entire lower leg and foot.
