- T helper cell

describe the role of T helper cells
produce interleukins (type of cytokine) that:
- stimulate activity of B cells - increase antibody production
- stimulate production of other T cells
- attract + stimulate macrophages to ingest pathogens with antigen-antibody complexes
describe the role of T killer cells
produce perforin to kill pathogen carrying the antigen by making holes in the cell membrane
describe the role of T memory cells
- live for long time, part of immunological memory
- if they meet an antigen a second time, they rapidly divide forming many T Killer clones to destroy the pathogen
describe the role of T regulator cells
- suppress immune system once pathogen is eliminated
- ensure body recognises self antigens and does not perform autoimmune response

- produce antibodies to particular antigen and release them into circulation

- divide to form plasma cell clones
