Systems & Oral Study Guide Flashcards
What is Min/To Fuel?
The minimum amount of fuel required to be on board per the release in order to take-off. This fuel consists of your Burn to destination, Holding fuel, Alternate Fuel, Reserve Fuel, Missed Approach Fuel, plus 10 NM of vectoring.
What is Divert Fuel?
The fuel that will get you from OVER THE TOP of your destination airport to your furthest planned alternate plus your 45 minute reserve.
When do you need to file an alternate?
1 6 V I T S
BRAKING
WIND
UNCONTROLLED
What is the Engine Start Abort Criteria?
Abort engine start immediately when:
– No light-off in 10 seconds after the first fuel flow indications (only on ground).
– ITT rises rapidly toward start limit.
– ITT approaches start limit.
– N2 remains steady or decreases for more than 5 seconds.
– Any unusual noise or vibration occurs.
– Engine instruments indicate abnormal conditions.
– Visible burning on the exhaust pipe.
– Oil pressure does not reach at least 34 psi after the engine reaches stabilized idle.
– The start should be aborted if fuel flow drops to zero pph immediately after light-up.
What is a Contaminated Runway?
A runway is considered contaminated when more than 25 percent of the overall runway length and width coverage or cleared width is covered by
frost, ice, or any depth of snow, slush, or water.
At what contamination level is take-off prohibited?
Contamination level 3
How can you tell if the ATTCS has been disarmed or triggered?
The ATTCS will disappear from the top of the EICAS page near the n1 ratings.
How do you know if the ATTCS has been triggered?
The ATTCS message will disappear from the top of the EICAS, but you MUST look at the Thrust rating and you will see that it has jumped to a higher setting. This is how you know that the ATTCS is triggered.
Where does the DAU #1 interact with information?
Engine #1 and the front of the aircraft
Where does DAU #2 gather information and interact with?
Engine #2 and the rear of the aircraft
How are the 3 different fuel tanks powered?
A pumps on both sides- Essential
B pumps on both sides- Essential
C pumps on both sides- DC powered
What is the After-Start flow sequence?
Ignition- FADEC- Reset and Alternate Hydraulic- Auto A/C Bleed Air- configure appropriately Ice Detection Override Knob- ENG or Auto MFD pages-verify
How long does the Take-off sequence last?
The takeoff sequence lasts until the Theoretical cabin altitude overtakes the actual cabin altitude or 15 minutes.
How long do the passenger oxygen masks last?
12-15 minutes
When will the Passenger Oxygen masks automatically deploy?
14,500 +/- 500ft.
