Systems knowledge Flashcards
In AUTO, when do the fuel pumps come ON?
Run switch to RUN - for engine start
Low fuel pressure
Right pump for APU operation when right engine is not running
In AUTO, when do the L (R) hydraulic pumps operate?
Low pressure
Flaps are out of clean
On the ground with NWS ON (Left)
When does the bus tie normally close?
External power, battery power, single generator
What is the minimum voltage required on the left battery prior to APU start?
20v
What is the purpose of the PTU?
It is a hydraulic motor driven from the right system to provide pressure to the left system primarily to retract the gear after takeoff with a left engine failure. It also pressurizes the left hydraulic reservoir.
When does the PTU operate in AUTO?
Left EDP failed
Right EDP providing pressure
Weight Off Wheels
Gear not in the selected position
What is the purpose of the AUX HYD system?
To provide hydraulic pressure to the lower rudder PCU if the right hydraulic system loses pressure (<1800psi) via a switching valve.
What are the hydraulic accumulators?
4 total:
Inboard/Outboard brakes
Aux system (lower rudder PCU)
Main Gear down lock assist
Pressing the EMER DEPRESS switch does what?
Depressurize for smoke and fumes in the cabin
AUTO depressurizes @ 2500fpm to 14,000’
MAN Mode 3000fpm to 14,500’ or aircraft altitude whichever is lower.
What’s needed for TOGA to present?
2-engines running
Flaps 10* or 20*
Speeds posted
What do you need to get Auto-throttle?
TO/TO items and
Throttles idle
Airspeed below 60KTS
FMA has right TO in the scoreboard.
