Systems Flashcards
What are the main control systems ?
Aileron : Equipped with counterweight to reduce flutter
Rudder : Equipped with a servo Tab ( help the pilot to control the rudder, used as trim tab ).
Pedals control the nose wheel 30° arc.
Stabilator : Equipped with Anti servo Tab ( increase resistance on the control , used as trim tab )
What is the emergency hydraulic pump ?
It is a manual hydraulic pump which allow to obtain pressure in event of failure of the hydraulic pump on the left engine.
To operate the emergency pump, the handle should be extended to its full length by pulling it aft and positioning the gear control as desired. (Around 50 strokes needed)
What are the main components of the electrical system ?
1 battery x 12 volt 35 ampere hour, enclosed in a sealed stainless steel battery box.
2 alternators 12 volt 70 ampere are installed as standard equipment ( 1 voltage regulator for both units that maintain the voltage at 13.9 V ).
An overvoltage relay to prevent overvoltage conditions ( it cuts the electrical power if voltage exceed 16 V ) which could damage the equipments.
What are the engines of the Aztec ?
What are the propellers of the Aztec ?
The Lycoming IO-540-C4B5 engines in the Aztec are rated at 250 BHP at 2575 RPM. The engine have a compression ratio of 8,5:1 and use 91/96 minimum octane aviation fuel.
The “Compact” propellers on the Aztec are Hartzell HC-E2YR-2RB/8465-7R constant speed, full-feathering units.
What are the limitations of the 2 large luggage compartments ?
150 lbs each
