Systems Flashcards
What kind of Flaps?
electrically actuated single slot type flaps which can be extended to the 10, 20, and 40 degree positions
Explain the ground control
10 degrees either side is available through the rudder pedals and can be increased to a total of 30 degrees to either side through use of the brake pedals.
Explain the landing gear
tricycle type landing gear made out of tubular spring steel and a nose wheel with an air/oil shock strut. the main gears are equipped with hydraulically actuated disc type brakes.
Explain the Engine details
the airplane is powered by a horizontally opposed, four cylinder, over head valve, air cooled, carbureted engine with a wet sump oil system. equipped with dual magnetos
what engine is in the plane?
Lycoming model 0-320-H2AD and is rated at 160hp at 2700rpm.
What is a wet sump?
it means oil is stored in the crankcase
what is the oil capacity
minimum/ maximum 4-6qts however the flight should not be completed with less than 5 qts
ignition
engine ignition is provided by two engine driven magnetos and two spark plugs per cylinder.
propeller
two bladed, fixed pitch, one piece forged aluminum alloy propeller, 75 inch diameter
fuel system
40 gallons usable
electrical system
28 volt, direct current system powered by an engine driven, 60 amp alternator and a 24 volt, 14 amp hour battery
vacuum system
an engine driven vacuum pump provides suction for the attitude indicator and the directional gyro. proper operating rage is 4.6 to 5.4 inches of mercury
Stall warning horn
airplane is equipped with a pneumatic type stall warning system consisting of an inlet in the leading edge of the left wing. as low air pressure above the wing moves forward during a stall in draws air through the horn causing an audible tone 5-10 knots above stall speed.
