Alternate Flap FLAP/SLAT CONTROL (777)
Alternate Flaps must be manually selected
Normal Flap Lever is by-passed.
Flap extension is limited to 20º, Slats to midrange.
Intermediate positions must be manually controlled.
Slats and Flaps extend simultaneously. Flaps retract completely before the Slats retract.
All protections, (asymmetry, load relief etc) are by-passed.
Plan for longer extension and retraction times.Totally about 3min
FLAPS DRIVE (777)
Enter appropriate Flap/Vref on FMC Approach page.
Apply normal wind corrections unless autothrottle is engaged.
Autopilot is available.
Maintain minimum IAS of Vref + 5 on approach - Do not reduce IAS below Vref in the flare to avoid tailstrike.
Fly the aircraft onto the runway, do not allow it to float in ground effect.

FMC predictions are unusable
