Q

Proper switch/selector positions for the gnd and airborne use of the eng and wing anti-ice system in both icing and non-icing conditions?

A

IN icing conditions
“Switch” airplanes - ON GND - wing OFF, eng’s ON
- Airborne - wing ON or OFF as req’d, eng’s ON. Wing anti-ice, if req’d, is selected ON during the after T/O flow.
“Selector” airplanes - ON GND - wing OFF, eng’s ON.
- Airborne - AUTO/AUTO/AUTO accomplished on the after T/O flow.
Note: eng bld air MUST be used for engine anti-ice, APU bld air is insufficient. When running a single eng, only run ONE pack is also using eng anti-ice on the ground.
NOT in Icing Conditions:
“Square Switch” airplanes - all switches OFF.
