A 25-year-old woman presents with a one week history of fatigue, fever and sharp right sided chest pain, which is worse on inspiration. She also complains of intermittent join pain in her hands which has been present for approximately 4 months. On examination there is mild erythema over her cheeks.
WHAT DOES THE PRESENTATION CONSIST OF?
SLE- SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS
Malar/ butterfly rash
A fixed erythematous rash of the cheekbones that spares the nasolabial folds!!!!!!!!
Photosensitivity (80%)
Arthralgia (77%)
Constitutional (53%)
Fever, weight loss and malaise etc.
Arthritis (44%)
Mouth ulcers (35%)
Alopecia (30%)
Non-scarring
Discoid erythematosus (25%)
Erythematous raised patches with scaling and follicular plugging.
Lymphadenopathy (16%)
Livedo reticularis (14%)
Mottled reticular patterned skin rash of purple discolouration.
