Flight Deck Access Test (FF)
With the flight deck door open:
Access code………………………………………………………………………Enter
Enter access code into keypad followed by the # key.
Verify aural alert sounds.
Verify amber keypad LED illuminates.
Verify amber AUTO UNLK light on FLT DECK DOOR panel
illuminates.
FLT DECK DOOR rotary switch………………………………………DENY
Hold FLT DECK DOOR rotary switch to DENY while observing
AUTO UNLK light extinguishes.
Verify red keypad LED illuminates.
Release FLT DECK DOOR rotary switch and wait 30 seconds. No
aural alert should sound.
FLT DECK DOOR rotary switch………………………………………UNLK
Hold FLT DECK DOOR rotary switch to UNLK while observing
LOCK FAIL light illuminates.
Verify aural alert sounds.
Release FLT DECK DOOR rotary switch and verify LOCK FAIL
light extinguishes.
Verify aural alert silences.
O2 Mask Test
Verify mask stowed and storage box doors closed.
Rotate regulator control knob to EMER.
Push and hold TEST/RESET button.
Verify yellow cross in oxygen flow indicator.
Verify oxygen flow is audible.
Release TEST/RESET button.
Verify oxygen flow indicator turns black.
Rotate regulator control to 100%.
Verify operation of mask microphone.
Push INT volume control knob on the audio control panel and
adjust volume.
Adjust overhead speaker volume.
Control wheel push-to-talk switch INT or audio control panel
RADIO/INT switch INT.
Push and hold TEST/RESET button.
Tap on stowage box and verify tapping is audible through the
overhead speaker.
Release TEST/RESET button and INT switch.
Wing Ice Detection Test (FF)
Hold AIRFOIL WING ICE DET switch in RESET for 1 second.
Verify no wing ice alert messages displayed on EAD.
Hold AIRFOIL WING ICE DET switch in TEST.
Verify WING ICE DET PASS alert message displayed on EAD.
Release AIRFOIL WING ICE DET switch.
Cockpit Voice Recorder Test
Push and hold TEST button.
STATUS light illuminates for approximately 1 second.
Release TEST button.
Emergency Power Test (FF)
EMER PWR selector …………………………………………………………… ARM
Note: The selector may need to be rotated from OFF to ARM to
initiate system test.
Verify EMER PWR ON light illuminates.
Verify EMER POWER TEST alert message displayed.
Verify EMER PWR TEST FAIL alert message is not displayed after
approximately 1 minute.
Fire Warning Test
All MASTER WARNING and MASTER CAUTION lights
extinguished.
Hold FIRE TEST switch down.
Verify aural alerts sound:
“FIRE LEFT ENGINE”
“FIRE RIGHT ENGINE”
“APU FIRE”
Verify MASTER WARNING lights illuminate.
Verify L and R ENG FIRE PULL handle lights illuminate.
Verify EAD alert messages illuminate:
ENG L FIRE
ENG R FIRE
APU FIRE
PODS TEST PASS
Note: PODS alert messages (TAIL MANF FAIL, TAIL TEMP
L HI, TAIL TEMP R HI, or WING MANF FAIL) may
illuminate on the EAD, but are not required for a
successful system test.
Push MASTER WARNING light and verify aural alerts
silence.
Release FIRE TEST switch and observe all alerts and
warnings extinguish.
Cargo Smoke Test
Push and hold CARGO SMOKE TEST button.
Verify aural “CARGO SMOKE” alert sounds.
Verify CARGO SMOKE panel PUSH lights illuminate.
Push either MASTER WARNING light or press the
illuminated SDCP AIR cue and verify aural alert silences.
Verify MASTER WARNING lights illuminate.
Verify EAD alert messages illuminate:
CARGO SMOKE FWD
CARGO SMOKE AFT
Release CARGO SMOKE TEST button and verify CRG
SMK TEST PASS alert message on EAD.
Stabilizer Test (FF)
SDCP CONFIG cue – Push
Move the control wheel trim switches.
Verify stabilizer trim indicator on SD moves the proper rate and
direction.
While holding the trim switches, raise STABILIZER TRIM switch
light guard and select OFF.
Verify OFF light illuminates, STAB TRIM OFF and USE
ALTERNATE STABILIZER TRIM alert messages displayed, and
trim indicator stops moving.
Release control wheel trim switches.
Operate the ALT LONG TRIM switches in the NOSE UP and NOSE
DN direction.
Verify stabilizer trim indicator on SD moves the proper rate and
direction.
Push STABILIZER TRIM switch light and verify OFF extinguishes
and STAB TRIM OFF alert message is not displayed
Fuel System Test (FF)
Push SDCP FUEL cue.
FUEL PUMP switches – ON
Turn on all fuel tank pump switches for tanks containing fuel.
Verify all fuel pump symbols turn green.
FUEL X-FEED lever – ON
Verify crossfeed valve symbol turns green and FUEL XFEED ON
alert message displayed on EAD.
FUEL X-FEED lever – OFF
Verify crossfeed valve symbol turns white and FUEL XFEED ON
alert message extinguishes on EAD.
FUEL PUMP switches – OFF
Hydraulic System Test (FF)
Push SDCP HYD cue. AUX pump switch – ON Verify auxiliary hydraulic pump symbol turns green and pressure normal. TRANS pump switch – ON Verify hydraulic power transfer unit symbols turn green and pressure normal. TRANS and AUX pump switches – OFF
Gear Warning Test (FF)
Push SDCP CONFIG cue.
Verify LEFT, NOSE, and RIGHT gear lights are illuminated green
and CONFIG secondary gear indicators are green.
Pull landing gear lever out of detent and verify LEFT, NOSE, and
RIGHT gear lights illuminate red and CONFIG secondary gear
indicator lights are red.
Release landing gear lever and verify LEFT, NOSE, and RIGHT gear
lights illuminate green and CONFIG secondary gear indicators are
green.
EGPWS Test (FF)
Push WX/TERR switch on the captain’s and first officer’s ECP to
display TERRAIN on ND.
Push SDCP STATUS cue.
Hold GPWS TEST switch to TEST position momentarily.
Verify BELOW G/S switch lights on the captain’s and first officer’s
forward panel illuminate momentarily.
Verify GRND PROX illuminates red and amber in the captain’s and
first officer’s PFD alert window.
Verify aural alerts sound:
“GLIDESLOPE”
“WHOOP-WHOOP, PULL-UP”
“TERRAIN, TERRAIN, PULL-UP”
Verify TERRAIN TEST and terrain test pattern on ND.
Verify STATUS page alert messages:
• TERRAIN FAIL
• GPWS FAULT
Note: When the test switch is held until the aural alerts begin, all
GPWS aural alerts are tested.
Radar and PWS Test
Push WX/TERR switch on the captain’s and first officer’s ECP to
display WXR OFF on ND.
WX RADAR GAIN switch AUTO.
WX RADAR antenna TILT selector as required.
Rotate WX RADAR mode selector to TEST.
Verify WINDSHEAR AHEAD flashes amber then red on the
captain’s and first officer’s PFD.
Verify aural alerts sound:
“MONITOR RADAR DISPLAY”
“GO AROUND, WINDSHEAR AHEAD”
“WINDSHEAR AHEAD, WINDSHEAR AHEAD”
Verify test pattern on the captain’s and first officer’s ND.
Rotate WX RADAR mode selector to OFF.
Transponder/TCAS Test (FF)
Select TCAS or MAP on captain’s and first officer’s ECP.
Rotate mode selector momentarily to TEST and release.
Verify RA recommended vertical speed on the captain’s and first
officer’s PFD.
Verify threat symbols and tags on the captain’s and first officer’s ND.
Verify aural alerts sound:
“TCAS SYSTEM OK”
