The process of identifying and reporting unauthorized entry/movement within a protected facility
Intrusion Detection System (IDS)
The process of managing cardholder movement through various portals within a protected facility
Access Control System (ACS)
Any person provided a system login ID and password for ASN software
Operator
The person responsible for overseeing the ASN environment
System Administrator
Any person authorized to arm and disarm at the keypad or provided access through protected doors
User
Any monitored device (BMS, PIR, Tamper)
Alarm point
An intrusion detection device typically used on doors and windows that is composed of a two part sensor that generates an alarm condition when a change in the magnetic field is detected
Balance Magnetic Switch (BMS)
An electronic device that measures infrared light radiating from objects in its field of view
Passive Infrared (PIR)
A button that, when activated, sends a signal to the ASN indicating someone is in distress
Duress Button
An alarm point active 24 hours a day regardless if the IDS is armed or disarmed
24 Hour Alarm Point
The electronic board used in IDS and/or ACS
Panel
A software grouping of alarm points that arm and disarm collectively
Partition
A code, verified at the panel, that is the first part of the arm/disarm sequence. It is common to all individuals having authorization to arm/disarm a secure area
4 Digit Access Code
The second part of the arm/disarm sequence, verified at the database (server)
Arm/Disarm number (3 digit personal pin)
User interface for arming/disarming panels and partitions locally. Also used for displaying current status and identifying problems
Keypad
A networked computer that runs ASN software
Workstation (WS)
Set of sensor electromagnetic cables buried in the ground around the perimeter of a site
Buried Line Sensor (BLS)
Sensor cable mounted on a chainlink fence to detect disturbances ground around the perimeter of a site
Fiber SenSys
Resources including cameras, monitors, audio, etc
Devices
A combination of commands sent to one or more cameras to execute a demand
Salvos
Groupings of cameras that a specific user can view in VMS
Sets
Screens that can display multiple videos from one or many cameras
Walls
Advantor VMS integrates CCTV systems to capture, organize, store and distribute video footage
