SYS111 - Hydraulics 2 Flashcards
Which cockpit has speed brake authority?
The speed brake responds to whoever makes the input
What kind of flaps does the T-6A have?
Split Flaps
Do the flaps require battery power?
What about the emergency flaps? If they do, why?
Yes they do.
The emergency flaps require battery power because they are connected to the Hot Batt Bus
What two conditions is flap operation and indication not available for?
- Batt Bus failure
2. Aux Batt is the only source of power
Is NWS part of the emergency system?
No
Does the brake system use the primary hydraulic system?
No
What are the three ways the speed brake will retract after extension?
- Speed brake switch is moved forward
- Flaps are lowered
- PCL is moved to MAX power
Where is the NWS selector valve located?
In the NWS actuator assembly
What powers the NWS system?
Gen Bus
What is the purpose of the speed brake?
The speed brake increases drag, thus decelerating the aircraft.
What is the purpose of landing flaps?
To allow you to maintain glideslope with a slower approach speed
Which way do you rotate the parking brake after pushing on the brakes and pulling it out?
90 degrees clockwise
When the slide valve closes, what components are not affected and why?
NWS is not affected when the slide valve closes because it is not part of the selector manifold
What is the relationship between the elevator trim tab and the speed brake?
As the speed brake is extended, it causes the nose to pitch up. A flexible cable connects the speed brake to the elevator trim tab. As the speed brake extends/retracts, the flexible cable automatically adjusts trim position to a more nose down/nose up trim condition.
Who controls the pressure of the brakes? Why?
Either the FCP or RCP, it is just whoever is pressing down on the brakes harder. Because the FCP and RCP share a master cylinder
