SYS106 - Electrical System Flashcards
The generator provies sufficient excess power to charge the battery and auxilliary batter to 26VDC (T/F)?
False, it does have suffiecient excess power but it charges them to 24 VDC.
What is the purpose of the battery?
The battery provides powe for engine starts and is capable of supplying power to all systems (except AC, which is automatically shut off) in the event of a generator fail with the bus tie closed.
If the AVI MSTR circuit breaker is pulled, what will happen if you switch the AVIONICS MASTER switch off?
The avionics will NOT be powered off.
What is the purpose of circuit breakers?
Each electrical distribution circuit is protected by the circuit breaker.
How does the GCU provide protection for the generator?
It will trip the generator off line in the event of a malfunciton
What is the power output of the generator?
28 VDC and 300 amp
Describe the battery bus electrical distribution
- The generator powers the FCP BAT BUS
- The FCP BAT BUS powers the RCP BAT BUS and the FCP AVI BAT BUS
- The FCP AVI BAT BUS powers the RCP AVI BAT BUS
What bus is external power distributed on?
The battery bus circuit.
Are circuit brreakers on a panel grouped in a specific order? If so, what order?
Yes, they are. They are grouped by the systems and components that they protect.
Each component in the HOT BAT BUS is protected by a circuit breaker (T/F)?
True
If the BUS TIE switch fails or is in the OPEN position, what do you expect to see?
An amber BUS TIE on the annunciator panel and a MASTER CAUTION light will flash
What is the purpose of the Avionics Master Switch?
It provides power for all avionics and radio systems excpt the UHF control unit and UHF reciever.
What is the voltage and amp output of the battery and auxiliary battery?
Batt: 24 VDC, 42 Amp-Hour
Aux Batt: 24 VDC, 5 Amp-Hour
What are the contents of the T-6A electrical system?
- Starter/Generator
- Battery
- Axuillary Battery
- External Power Receptacle
What is done, if anything, to the auxiliary battery during preflight checks?
The auxiliary battery is tested on the System Test Panel on the left side of the FCP.
What does the number on the circuit breaker mean?
It is an amperage marking and is shows the current load in amps that the circuit is allowed ot pass.
